The Weekend in Black and White #5

For this The Weekend in Black and White I would like yo show you a small capture of the amazing ship "Vasa", which sank very shortly after setting out for its maiden voyage. Vasa is today - due to a very interesting rescue - situated in a museum in Stockholm, Sweden. Read about Vasa here.

Did you look around inside?

Koh-I-Noor sagde ...

Yes, I did, Lucy :)
Have you seen it too?

Lucy Corrander sagde ...

No. But I have seen inside other old ships - though that was in my pre-photography days. (Pretty dark in there anyway!)

Lucy> Old ships are sooo interesting. You can feel, how life was inside. Hard work and great friendships. I love it!
You must se Vasa, and if you ever come to Denmark, you must see "Fregatten Jylland" in Ebeltoft. I am sure, you will love it. Bring your camera. The flash will do the job ;)

There's always something to see in an old wooden ship. All the textures are wonderful!

For me, wood as it ages is so beautiful. Lovely capture, and it so nice that your ship is preserved in a museum.
